Please Be Holy

Focus: 1 Thessalonians 4:7 - KJV

7. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

1 Peter 1:13-25

There is a mystic flowing through the air and the enemy is capitalizing on the same to deceive many into continuing to offend God while assuming they are doing His will. The standard of God is that the man He created should be and remain His image to be acceptable unto Him. Hence, He says we should be holy as He is holy. But the enemy is quick to make us assume that because Jesus died for our sin, which is true, we can now do what we want since sin has been defeated. That will absolutely be fallacious and inimical to the will of God. For what Christ did was to reconcile man with God for having offended Him in the beginning through the impurity or unholiness of Adam. In essence, the sacrifice on the cross is aimed at putting man back to the initial construct of being the image of the holy God.

If God frowned at the misbehavior of Adam and has had to come in the flesh to correct it, how then do we assume He would condone another misbehavior from the ransomed by bathing an eye concerning it? It may be a thing of forgiveness by mercy if the offender realizes his folly and seeks forgiveness which is a way of saying, “I have dented your image but I don’t like it so, please restore me to your original image again”. That was what Adam did not do in the Garden. If he had been restored in the Garden, perhaps he would have had the occasion to take back the dominion over the earth which he lost to the thief. And, since the Lord will not come back again to die for any sin but to judge those who are found unholy, everyone who refuses to live holy and maintain a holy life is simply asking for judgment.

The Lord is saying to us today that His standards never change. Yes, by Christ He has forgiven us our sin which we committed in Adam and lived by from birth. But the position simply is to go and sin no more else greater calamity comes. Our becoming born again is simply to state that we have agreed to live by Christ in holiness, so that we can be the true image of the creator and operate in dominion by the power of His might, going forward. That cannot be made possible as filthy beings because the filthy one whom we seek to dominate will find his own image and not that of God, in the unholy. As there is no way we can be filthier than the filthy in his domain, every filthy man is subservient to the filthy one who is called the devil, and never pleasing to God.

SOLUTION: Let us please be deliberate about being the image of God by being holy even as He is holy that called us. It is only by being truly holy that we reflect the image of God and it is thereby that we rule over darkness. Please be holy.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God for ransoming you out of darkness into His marvelous light

·      Please plead the blood of Jesus over every accusation against you and tell the Lord you forsake every filthy act to embrace His holiness from today if He would forgive you by His mercy

·      Pray for the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit always in your affairs so that you may forever remain holy bearing the fruit of the Spirit

·      Ask that the Lord will further equip you with the strength to tread upon serpents and scorpions without you being hurt

·      Ask for your daily bread today

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
