Please Be Holy

Focus: 1 Peter 1:14-15 - KJV

14. As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 15. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1 Peter 4:1-5; 2 Corinthians 7:1

The nature of God is holiness. And it is not feasible for two to walk together except they be agreed. For anyone to walk with God, the same must agree with Him in holiness as without it, no one shall see Him. It is clear therefore, that every sin we commit inhibits us from having access to God. Even though we pretend to be in His presence, we know ourselves that we are in deceit. When we are not in tune with God, we are not able to show Kingdom wonders. Holiness is the pathway to same.

For as long as Moses was seemingly holy, in the days of ignorance, God spoke with him mouth to mouth. When his holiness waned and he began to equate himself with God, the Lord told him to pack it up and he failed to enter into God’s promise unto the fathers. Such must have been a tragic ending; for Moses pleaded with God and was told sternly never to bring the matter up again. Check! How does one walk closely with the Lord for forty years only to be shut down abruptly? It does not sound right. But then that is God’s standard. Moses was taken up by the Lord because his deeds happened in the days of ignorance. Christ has settled all that for us and ignorance is no more.

The Lord wants that as we have been ransomed to becoming joint heirs with Christ, which in ordinary parlance is to say we have been made holy, we are to maintain holy living like Christ our example, so that we can maintain relationship with God. It is in no way holy to live in disobedience unto our God, in any way. Such can be likened to having God proceeding on a journey northward and we facing a southward journey. It can never produce good result. Let us therefore forsake everything that the Lord does not approve of, so that we may constantly walk in holiness that we may see the Lord.

Please pray:

Father, we thank you for the grace you have given unto us to be your children. We want to be able to access your present always unhindered. We therefore pray, whatever it is that will prevent us from seeing you, do cut away from each and every one of us, in Jesus’ name. Let your Spirit of holiness keep us away from filth and disobedience, in Jesus’ name. Let all eyes see and affirm that indeed we walk with you Lord, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
