9. When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
2 Kings 19:8-37
The Lord our God is the Man of war! There is none that confronts Him in battle that overcomes Him. And because we have Him as our Ally, we can depend on Him to defend us in our battles. However, because of the flesh, there is the tendency that we err and fall short of His glory such that He is not near to aid us. But if we will cry unto Him, it indicates our return to the one who says He will in no wise cast out, and He will come to our aid. Sennacherub, king of Assyria had a daunting credential of war. He sent message to Hezekiah of his intent to overrun his kingdom. Hezekiah was first afraid of this mighty and powerful king but then he remembered that He had the Lord of Hosts as his defense. He cried to the Lord and he needed not fight. There was a slaughter of 185,000 men in the Assyrian army in one night without a visible opposition. That caused the super king to beat a retreat. And you know what? He was subsequently killed by His own sons for it. This is why it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Whoever the Lord is with, if you pitch a tent of war against the same, you may be falling into the hands of the living God. Bear in mind, we did not say whoever the world assumes the Lord is with. No. it is only the Lord that knows those with whom He stands. It is not written on any face. God once was with Saul but Saul later left Him. Because it is not so written, please stop pitching tent of war against any man.
God loves you. He loves your neighbor also. To what gain is that your stubborn position of wanting to deal with your neighbor? If you insist like Sennacherub and your neighbor cries unto God like Hezekiah, the Lord will protect him and that may result in His leaving you alone. Whoever the Lord leaves alone is exposed to the destruction of the devil. Because we are not God that created the neighbor, we have no right or entitlement to want to “deal” with him or anyone for that matter. Why not love your neighbor like yourself from hence?
SOLUTION: Stop that uncanny pursuit targeted against your neighbor. If you find yourself cornered by the enemy, cry unto God for Him to rescue you. Don’t stop being on the side of the Lord. Purposely love your neighbor as yourself.
The great deliverer shall deliver us this day from everyone asserting undue power over our lives and destinies in Jesus’ name. Every ambush of the enemy shall be dispersed today by the mighty hand of God in the name of Jesus Christ. If we had been pursuing others before, as we focus on love from today, the Lord will show us mercy in the mighty name of Jesus. By the power in the name of Jesus, we shall not end up as prey to the mighty in Jesus’ name.
