15. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Matthew 5:21-22
God loves man and therefore does not want any man at all, to die but to come to repentance. Hence, His mind to us ward is that we love one another so as to give life to one another. Whenever we appear to hate any other fellow, we operate as killers of such a fellow. There is nothing a person can do to a believer that should warrant hatred. We should rather reciprocate wickedness with love so as to gain the wicked as a loving brother in the end. Those that are hated and are allowed to die, are lost to the devil and therefore a loss to the kingdom of light.
Haman was hateful of Mordecai. Since hatred is tantamount to murder in the sight of God, the scripture demonstrated it in the story of the duo. The hatred Haman had for Mordecai not only made him to prepare gallows with which to hang Mordecai, but also got the fiat of the king to exterminate his race. If God had not been on the side of Mordecai and the Jewish race, Haman would have succeeded in murdering them by his hatred. The story of king Saul and David too resonates here. And, the hatred of Jezebel for Naboth made her murderous instinct to bring an end to the poor man’s life.
The Lord’s guidance for us today is to avoid hatred at all cost. The one we hate, we already killed in our hearts. Since God is Love, when we hate a person, we have separated God from the same in our heart. In another vein, when we hate someone to the extent of disparaging him in the sight of those who should love him, we end up separating God (Love) from their hearts towards him and thereby killing him before and through them. God knows what Saul told many about David that made them agree to hunt him to death. No murderer can make heaven. Haters are murderers. Stop the hate and end the murders.
Please pray:
Father, I love and thank you for loving me and giving me the capacity to love others. Let every spirit of hatred be expunged completely from my heart and life, in Jesus’ name. Help me to love everyone I come across dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. The grace never to allow resentment or hatred to cross my heart regarding anybody, please release upon me today, in Jesus’ name. Those that I may have crucified with my mouth out of resentment in times past, please reach out to succor them, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. In all, do not let me miss your kingdom for any reason, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
