The Anointed Is Fortified, And Heard

Focus: Psalms 20:6 - KJV

6. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

1 Chronicles 16:20-22

The anointing is the shedding of a part of the Spirit of God on an individual or a group of people. When such happens, the recipients are said to be anointed. When a person is said to be anointed, it means the same carries with him, the presence of God. That presence makes vices impossible where the anointed is found. And, whenever the anointed says a thing in prayer, since he carries the presence of God, he is heard with ease as against those who have to cry and scream before they feel heard. The presence of God also brings with it the glory of the Lord around and about the anointed. That glory attracts unto the anointed good things of life from favor to honor and what have you. The Lord separates between the anointed and issues of calamity, all the time.

The Biblical Israel was a nation that bore the presence of God. By that presence, God kept them favored and blessed in Goshen while the other parts of Egypt experienced plagues. When they were on their way from Egypt, God fortified them with His presence with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. When they encountered a huge obstacle by the Red Sea, God heard Moses as he cried to Him and instructed him on the way forward. They could not be cursed by Balaam at the instance of Balak. Whereat, it became written that God rebuked kings for their sakes saying touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm. The presence of God made Daniel inedible to lions in their den. The three Hebrew boys could not be roasted because they carried God’s presence.

The Lord is enjoining us to carry more of His presence if we must truly excel in life. Rather than keep running after the wealth that would perish, it is good that we seek more the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; love righteousness and hate iniquity so that we may be anointed above our fellows. When we are so anointed, we shall do greater exploits than all them that had been before and pretty soon, the world will confirm that, like Jesus, we go about doing good because God is with us.
