4. To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
2 Timothy 4:6-8
There is a sure hope of a valuable inheritance for every believer in Christ, hence they are admitted as joint-heirs with Him, of the father. This hope keeps him in Christ despite all the tribulations and trials he is confronted with on earth. By it, the believer asserts that there is nothing that can separate him from the love of Christ knowing that His promises are yea and in Him, Amen. He has promised to go and prepare a place for us where there are many mansions. He has promised us different manners of crowns and rulership over nations. These promises of inheritance with the saints cannot be corrupted like men do corrupt earthly inheritance. They are sure and forever settled in heaven.
Stephen was a deacon who spoke the truth about the essence and the person of Christ to an audience whose ears had been blocked to the truth. They decided he should not be allowed to live. But in fulfilment of His promise to us, while the wicked were trying to get life out of him, his eyes opened to see Christ giving him a sort of standing ovation to receive him unto Himself just like He had promised. After so much travail in ministry, Paul looked and was satisfied in his spirit that he had fought a good fight and had finished his cause well, with crowns awaiting him for his celebration, which crowns cannot be stolen, disputed or altered.
God is looking for more resilient believers who, in the face of persecution will stand for the faith, having the assurance that their hope of an inheritance is intact and cannot be corrupted. The things of this world shall remain and end here. But there is an eternity for everyone. While some will inherit eternal life and therefore incorruptible inheritance, others will face eternal damnation where what they are served is simply weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. The counsel of God to us is to choose life so as to attain the incorruptible inheritance that he has gone ahead of us to make ready.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for the salvation of my soul, by which I have an assurance of being part of your Kingdom. Even as I continue to traverse this pilgrimage on earth, do help me never to fall out of love with Christ, no matter what the enemy does, in Jesus’ name. Take me dear Lord, to the height which you had prepared for me in you, by your mercy, in Jesus’ name. Let me never lose my crown or any of my inheritance with the saints, in Jesus’ name. Whatever I will do, that will cause me to be estranged from you, please do not let it happen ever, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
