14. Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 15. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
Genesis 8:20-21
God is the giver of life and therefore loves life. Whenever a person is saved, the sacrifice that brings the same to preservation is a sweet aroma unto the Lord. Time is life; every time we spend in the work of soul-winning and evangelism is a sacrifice of life for the souls and unto God. Therefore, the efforts and time spent in seeking the lost souls are accounted for in the presence of God and are indeed worthy sacrifice unto the Lord. No wonder Christ said, there is no greater love than for a friend to lay down his life for his friends. Christ put down the time of His life as sacrifice for our sin unto God. He first spent time teaching us about the father, and then forfeited time that He could have used staying on earth. His sacrifice was sweet unto the Lord. The aroma is unending.
When God saved Noah of all the men on earth, from the flood, the man took time to build an altar and give a sacrifice that presented a great aroma unto the Lord. Yet, the biggest sacrifice anyone can give to God is his own life. And that is depicted in time and how we spend it for the kingdom. The word of God says to redeem the time because the days are evil. It says there is a time for everything under the heaven. It also directs that we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. All this together, suggest that the sacrifice of time for the sake of the kingdom is something God reckons with and encourages.
The Lord is asking each of us for our sacrifice on the altar of time. Howbeit that when others are striving for kingdom matters, many are busy majoring in minor matters. That simply means they spend life on non-essentials and leave the essentials unattended. Every believer that lacks a sacrifice before the Most-High is not so pleasing unto Him. For truly, we are unto God a sweet savor of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish. In them that are saved in that they are gained by the Kingdom, and in them that perish in that they cannot call God unrighteous since they heard the truth from us.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for the life you have given me. Please help me to use my time judiciously for the purpose for which you gave me the time and life, in Jesus’ name. Do not let the enemy deceive me into majoring in minor matters while the major things are kept in abeyance, in Jesus’ name. Help me to redeem the time from now that I may by the help of your Spirit account for more saved souls every day of my life, than I have ever done till today, in Jesus’ name. Please let those souls for which I spent much time in sacrifice, bring to you sweet savor always, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
