35. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:48-51
Our God is the giver of life. Everything that is has its being from God. It is His mind that all should have life and life more abundantly. Therefore, it is not the mind of God that any should die or perish. After giving life, it is the enemy that came to sow tares which brought about death and dying, that caused man to be separated from the tree of life. Thank God for loving the world and giving us His only begotten Son so that we may be restored to life and life eternal. It is a belief in Him that gives us renewed access to the tree of life and have us presented back to the father, in life.
The Lord gave to us an experience in the lives of the Israelites that journeyed from Egypt to Canaan. They were fed with bread, yet they died. They were allowed to drink water from the rock, in the wilderness, yet they thirsted thereafter. However, the true bread of life is Christ Jesus, who also is the fountain of living waters. To have life and it more abundantly requires that we eat of the bread that comes from heaven, who is Jesus Christ. Eating this bread and drinking His water is to believe in Him and to follow the path He has created that leads to God in eternity.
The Lord is saying it is enough of lip service to Christ-likeness. He wants us to imbibe Christ in our beings truly such that the lives we live be lived through Christ so that we hunger no more as we live in pure righteousness and thirst no more as we operate in the source of living waters. Blessed be God who has made this grace available unto us. Let us not allow this grace to come to waste any more. Let us assert our beliefs in this our God by believing the one He has sent to us.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for the gift of life through Christ Jesus. Please give me this bread to eat and this water to drink the more from now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. As I continue to eat and drink, please sustain me in life and give me life more abundantly, in the name of Jesus Christ. Please keep me in righteousness and faith in Christ to the very end that I may dwell in that city where tears will be wiped away and Christ will be the light forever, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
