The Burden Bearer

ree

Focus: Psalms 55:22 - KJV

22. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Matthew 11:25-30

Our God is the Maker of the heavens and the earth; He knows all things and can do all things. However, since the separation between Him and man, the burden upon mankind placed by the deceiver on them, has been very heavy. Many are still cringing under such yoke, and burden, even now. Yet the Lord is the one who is able to help bear the burden, and thereby sustain the burdened to ensure that he does not thereby perish. However, the sin of man which was so perpetual, separated man from God who could help him bear his burden. God, being Love, then created for man, an avenue in Christ Jesus, who is God made man, to bear the burden and sustain man, as many as will approach Him for help. Hence, the focus is Christ, without a need to continue to grope in the dark, seeking God.

Elijah was a prophet of God who was given the formular to call down fire, out run chariots, and so on. At one time, he became burdened and was therefore, suicidal. But God reached out to him and sustained him through the ministry of a widow woman in Zarephath. Not every man has such opportunity like Elijah had. Many were equally burdened at the time, but lacked sustenance. The Lord did not leave His own to be moved. Fast forward to the coming of the Messiah: what Elijah needed to look up to heaven for, was brought to the earth freely willy. We have an open invitation to approach Christ with our burdens. The number of burdens He lifted whilst He was here are just uncountable.

The Lord wants us to know that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Even now that He has ascended to heaven, He is there interceding on behalf of all that will call upon Him in the day of trouble. He is still in the business of bearing our burdens, sustaining us, and not allowing us to be moved. But that is basically for those who heed His invitation to come unto Him. We do that by accepting that He is the way that leads to the father, and therefore, live our lives by Him (His precepts, and tenets) going forward. God is assuring us that as many as will call on Him today, will have their burdens lifted and they will not be moved anymore.

Please pray:

Thank you, Lord for being always available to take off my burden no matter how heavy. On this glorious day, I submit myself and all my burdens to you, Lord Jesus; I exchange my burdens for your easy yoke: please sustain me through life and let no burden cause me to crash or dip, in Jesus’ name. Let your yoke redirect me to the place where the pastures are greenest and safe, my dear Shepherd, in Jesus’ name. Let the whole world see the effect of your Lordship over me, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
