The King Born to Die: Our Victory Secured

Focus Scripture:

"Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him." — Matthew 2:2 (KJV)

The Message

Happy Easter to you, dearly beloved. As we commemorate the resurrection of Christ, we must reflect on its true essence. Long before His birth, prophecies foretold a Messiah who would be the King of the Jews, bringing victory over their enemies. While many looked for a King to defeat physical foes, God had a far greater liberation in mind.

Jesus was born under a miraculous star, yet He grew to wear a crown of thorns. His victory wasn't found in avoiding the cross, but in overcoming it. When He rose after the Sabbath, He took hold of all power in heaven and on earth. The beauty of this victory is that it isn't His alone; it belongs to everyone who believes in Him. Because He stands in victory, you can stand above your enemies too.

Even in His infancy, the weight of His mission was known. When Simeon held baby Jesus in the temple, he rejoiced, yet he also foresaw the agony that would pierce Mary’s heart. He saw that the road to the empty tomb required a sacrifice. Today, that tomb is empty! Christ now holds the "keys of David"—what He opens, no man can shut. As joint-heirs with Him, these spiritual "keys" and treasures are available to us.

The Lord is asking us today: Why are we letting these divine treasures go to waste? Christ gave us the authority to do the works He did, and even greater ones. If we don’t see this power active in our lives, the fault doesn't lie with God’s promise. Instead, we must examine our own hearts. Are we truly rooted in the One who died and rose again?

Reflective Prayer

Thank You, Lord, for giving me a place to sit beside You in heavenly places. As You have put the enemy under my feet, I pray that there will never be a reversal of my position. Keep me steady in Your victory, now and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Please share. God bless you.
