The Lord Our Guide

ree

Focus: Isaiah 58:11 - KJV

11. And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Isaiah 58:9-12

The ordinary man lacks a sense of direction until he is guided. That is why the instrument called the compass was invented. In some places and cases, without it, the tendency is for the man to keep moving in circles without making any appreciable progress. The greatest Compass anyone can think of is in the Lord. He knows the way to commute out of the greatest of problems. Hence, for those who rely on Him, He does not allow them to get stuck in any situation or circumstance they find themselves. Once they call on or cry to Him, He comes through for them and guides them into safety and peace. He is still in the business of guiding them that love Him.

A time was when David ran into trouble with his king, Saul without really knowing what he did wrong. He became a fugitive and kept hiding away from the king’s reach. In one of the times, he hid himself in a particular town and those who did not want his wellbeing went to tell the king he was in the said town. Once he was informed that the king already blew his cover, he needed guidance and went to the one who answers His lovers when they call on Him. He asked the Lord if Saul would come after him in the town and the Lord told him yes. He asked whether the people of the town would hand him over to Saul and God answered again in the affirmative. He was thereby guided to escape from the said town and the king’s onslaught. If not for God’s guidance, David would have been caught.

The Lord is reminding us today that He has never said to us that He was tired of guiding us. It is therefore a wonder why we refuse to take the great benefit available unto us in crying unto God when our ways appear confusing. Although we no longer use the ephod or any such instrument, the Lord is still very much available to them that diligently seek Him. There are many today who daily receive guidance of the Lord and they are better off for it. The Lord is inviting us to the same benefit so that we may optimize our relationship with Him even while we are still on this side of eternity.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for all you have done in guiding me into success and towards destiny fulfilment. Please continue to be my guide that I may never fall prey of the enemy, in Jesus’ name. Lead me to the place of my possession in you like you led Abraham to the promised land, in Jesus’ name. Let this day mark the ending to every confusion in the journey of my life in Jesus’ name. Do please guide me away from every booby trap of the enemy programmed for my feet, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
