The Lord’s Time Is Here

Focus: 1 Peter 4:7 - KJV

7. But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Luke 21:34-36

The world has been so overwhelmed with darkness over the years. The Light came into the world and offered the world His Light but many have rejected Him because they love darkness more than light. Before He departed from earth, He told His followers the signs that would precede His return to take over the reins of the earth. The essence of telling them then, was to put them on notice so that they would not be careless and be eroded with the world, when the Lord’s time comes. From all known indices, all the signs have been accomplished even in several ways for some of them. No one can say the Lord has not been gracious to mankind enough even if He appears right now on this day. Since He promised to come, He would surely come and all the signs say, He is about to appear.

The Lord is full of mercies. Hence, despite all His warnings in scripture, to forestall people being caught napping, He has made the revelation of His return known to many. In actual fact, countless are the people with such revelation. The most recent and vivid one is the revelation to a believer who saw some of the fathers of the faith return with “the King” in a revelation. He rushed as if to meet the King but found that the King was on a very vast field, receiving pleasantries from many, whilst the place of His seat where He was to receive the Church was being opened. But as he was jubilantly expectant to meet with the King, someone exclaimed that many were eager to meet the King but not mindful of their laundry. And then he offloaded laundry bags from a bus. The bag was full of white garments that were apparently filthy. Everyone knows that the Church to be presented to the King must be one without spot or wrinkle.

The Lord is calling us to attention that time is up. Everyone that needs a laundry should do it now as there will be no excuses when the King has already entered. Hence, He exclaims that we should keep watching and praying lest we end up being unprepared when He truly shows. Let everyone therefore, forsake their surfeiting, drunkenness and cares of this world, so that they be not caught unawares but rather pay attention to peace, righteousness and love. There is no other strong point anyone has to prove again. The Lord is about to show Himself.

Father, I thank you for the opportunity to know about your requirements for peace, righteousness and love. Please keep me upright to the very end even as I continue to watch and pray, in Jesus’ name. Please let me not be caught unawares at your return, in Jesus’ name. Let your name forever be glorified in Jesus’ name.
