The Lord Will Yet Hear

ree

Focus: Psalms 38:15 - KJV

15. For in thee, O L ORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

Psalms 38:1-15

Our God is indeed, Love. It is true that when we sin against Him, it is crass foolishness and real insubordination. Yet, because He is Love, He does not for our misbehavior cut us off totally to refuse to hear when we come soberly in repentance to Him. Some do assume and have made us to believe over the ages that because of sin, we are disconnected permanently from God and have no hope in Him. Yes, sin is a reproach to many people. Meanwhile, because He is Love, God does not want a sinner to die but to come to repentance. And where a sinner repents, there is joy in heaven amongst the angels of the Lord since a lost sheep has been found, a lost treasure has been recovered.

The worst enemy of the Lord that anyone can imagine is Satan. He indeed, is the source of all sins and the chief challenger of God’s authority. But then, God will never deny Himself. Love does not vaunt (Him)self, neither is He puffed up. Hence, it was not surprising that when God saw Satan among the sons of God in the days of Job, rather than ignore or set him ablaze as many would want, He engaged him in a conversation. Again, when the Lord came to earth as the son of Man, he was engaged by Satan in a temptation spree, there was neither scuffling nor shouting bout. The Lord had discussion with him in gentleness and still overcame him.

The Lord is saying to us that no matter how bad we may have sinned, if we come to Him in repentance, He would treat us better than He did Satan, for He would hear us and that in doing so, mercy may be made to prevail in our matter. Therefore, the Lord will prefer that we humble ourselves and approach Him in repentance, having the hope that He would hear and He will surely hear us and receive us as His own children who had been lost but now found.

Please pray:

Thank you, ever loving father, for never leaving nor forsaking me. Please forgive my past waywardness and draw me back to yourself in love from today, in Jesus’ name. Please do not cast me away from your presence and never chastise me in your hot displeasure, in Jesus’ name. Let the desires of my heart and my loving requests before you never be turned down, my dear Lord and father, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
