Those Who Will Not Be Ashamed At The Sight Of God

Focus: Psalms 34:5 - KJV

5. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

Psalms 34:1-8

Shame is a painful emotion caused by the consciousness of guilt, shortcoming, or impropriety. When God created man, He did so in His own image and likeness. Meaning that any time God looks at man, He saw Himself in man like in a mirror; a reflection of His person kind of, as it were. Alas, when Adam challenged the authority of God, evil was located in him which is far from the personality of God and, therefore, when Adam heard the voice of the Lord in the garden, he was clearly ashamed, having become conscious of his wickedness and guilt. That position subsists for every man who dwells in disobedience unto God for their evil nature does not in any way, conform with the image of God. Nonetheless, because God loves man and would love to keep seeing His image in him, God made a way to restore man to His image by sending Christ to show us the true person of the Father, so that if we emulate Him, the second Adam, being the true image of God, we may also be restored to the same imagery.

When a man be born again, it is assumed that he has shed the garb of evil and has taken up the appearance of righteousness which depicts the image of God. Hence, he is able to appear in the throne room of God and call God “daddy”, without being ashamed even when the light from God’s countenance beams on him. Those who are not born again but pretend to be, once they attempt to enter the throne room, the light is inimical to their countenance and being, therefore, they are not able to properly appear before God and are pushed out in their shamefaced posture. This is why many do claim to be of the Lord without being able to make effective prayers. It is only those who see the light and are able to stand without being ashamed that make petitions before the Lord and have them effectively acted upon. The difference is the garb of righteousness. It is what makes one stand in the light unaffected.

Beloved, it is righteousness that exalts a nation, for sin is a reproach to many people. Those who dwell in sin are living in shame when it comes to relationship with God. Every time we raise prayers unto our God and it does not appear our prayers are receiving attention, then we need to quickly conduct an ex-ray to determine whether we are still in conformity with the image of God. We can get the best out of our God always, when He looks down and sees His reflection in us. He created us for such pleasure in us and not to see things that make Him regret making man. We can do better if we start to appear like the Most-High from today. And when the Lord shall come for the saints, those that would be ashamed will not hear the sound of the trumpet that will summon the saints.

SOLUTION: Let us deliberately remove every evil garment and exchange it for the righteous one. Doing that makes us draw nigh unto God and He is bound to draw nigh us for it. When it happens, there is never shame nor sorrow.

Please pray: Father, we want to look more like you every passing day. Please make us to conform to your being that we may never be ashamed at your appearing, in Jesus’ name. Let us remain in righteousness to the very end, in Jesus’ name. Let the light of your countenance draw us nearer you and not push us away, in Jesus’ name.
