Wisdom is prepared

Key verse: Proverbs 9:2-3 - KJV

2. She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. 3. She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,

Proverbs 9:1-6

Christ is the power and the wisdom of God. The wise man, Solomon identifies wisdom as a being who has prepared a table with all necessary delicacies that will grant any participant of that table wisdom and real understanding. Even David poetically wrote that “thou (referring to wisdom/God) prepared a table before me, in the presence of my enemies”. The true depth of such statement is to relate it with the acquisition of wisdom and understanding while the enemies lack the same. And because wisdom is the principal thing for any to acquire, since he got wisdom from the table the Lord laid before him, he was victorious in almost all his endeavors.

The Lord decided to allow the same Wisdom to come to us in the nature of a man. He has offered us all the delicacies that will make us wise, give us deeper knowledge of the affairs of the world, give us superb understanding of everything that relate to God and the earth vis a vis human existence, through His Gospel. As many as will take the invitation and attend the table of His delicacies can only have life and life more abundantly in that through His recipe, there is no failing in the journey of life.

Beloved, the wisdom we need to transcend the earth is already served in the Gospels of Jesus Christ. The one who will be wise, will take up these Gospels and digest them properly ensuring to act on the stipulates therein. Only those who keep His words in them and act on same will be adjudged wise in the end. Saul of Tarsus assumed he was wise, going about persecuting Wisdom. But his life turned around when he heard the words of Christ and believed. He became truly wise and has been teaching as well as raising many generations of believers even after his own demise because he fed from the table of Wisdom. Peter thought himself wise and returned to fishing. When he caught nothing and realized what a failure he truly was, He leaned to dine from the table of Wisdom and became wise, fishing for men instead of fish. Nothing preserves better than wisdom. The one who will be wise will not reject the instructions of the Wisdom of God. His basic instruction is for us to abide in Him and have His words abide in us. The table is set.

Pray: Father, by your Wisdom, please grant me wisdom that I may traverse the earth much better than I have done thus far in the name of Jesus.
