Memorize: Isaiah 40:4-5
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: 5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
Read: Revelations 21:1-8
When God made the earth, He certified it as very good. But what did God so certify? The earth was peaceful – no shedding of blood, no squabbles or quarrel, no backbiting, in fact no vice of any kind. There was love amongst the creatures: what God gave to each to eat, he ate. No animal was eating human flesh, neither was man killing animals for food. But corruption came into the earth through sin and ever since, everything that was very good became terribly bad. God whose heaven was close to the earth in a manner of speaking, withdrew completely and viewed from far above.
Then He resolved to ransom the earth from the grip of the usurper and restore it to its original state. This is meant to be a process: the first stage was to appoint a nation to show forth how man, the custodian of the earth, should relate with God on earth; the next stage was to bring forth a man (seed of the woman) to pay for the sin of man; thereafter is to ensure mankind understands that the power of the reins over the earth has been restored and is accessible through the belief in the finished works on the cross; and then, the earth as it is will be destroyed of every evil works and workers by a restoration of the old order and only the righteous who have learnt through the example of Christ the way to live on earth, shall possess the new earth.
The operators in the new earth will have easy communion with the “new” heaven in that the distance between the heaven and the earth would have been bridged and man, like before will commune with God more frequently and with greater ease having attained pure hearts and contrite spirit. But those who are not found righteous at the critical time will not be allowed in the new earth. They will be eroded into the lake of fire where their manner of life is characterized which is pain and sorrow. There they will be forever. Strange? But that is the message of the Bible. Where will your eternity be: in bliss with God or in pain in hell? Take a stand today. Lead a righteous life and your passport of citizenship will be confirmed for the glorious Kingdom.
Pray: Father, do please help me to make it to the end with you in Jesus name.
