It is another Mothers’ Day today! Happy Mothers’ Day to every woman user of this Guide. The Lord will reward your motherly labor over the children with pleasantness and greatness in Jesus’ name.
Salvation is free, even though it was paid for with the sinless blood of Jesus Christ. That expensive blood must be taken for what it is, precious and priceless. To look at it in this form, that for which it was shed must be preserved, with everything possible. The Bible speaks of those whose name are not found in the Book of Life. It means some people despite all that Christ did, will miss salvation in that they are not acceptable. Paul captured this in his letters to the churches he founded. For instance, to the Corinthian church, he made it clear that, having discovered the truth about salvation, they labored so much not minding who was watching or not, to ensure they have their names written and to make it to the very end.
Let us look at it this way: there was a Paul who had no car, phone, television or internet; yet, he planted many churches and converted many to Christ, apart from following them up to ensure they never derailed. He also made sure that he kept his body under always, just that he may be acceptable by the Lord, not assuming that he is covered by grace. And on the other side, is a twenty first century Christian who has all the technology that makes life quite easy, but he is not averse to the gay movement, can’t be bothered about the rot in the church as exemplified in entertainment rather than praise, and taking fornication or sodomy as merely an avenue for catching fun. Will God be just to grant both candidates access to glory? Will it be right to say it does not matter, since Christ died for sin?
Dearly beloved, God is too righteous to be unjust. As much as mercy would avail some who may not have known better, the principles of God remain the same. We have a part to play to have our names retained in the Book of Life. It is called ultimate salvation. If it was not so, we can all just accept the Lordship of Jesus and forget about it all as we already have a place in heaven. The Lord’s eyes cannot behold iniquity; hence all workers of iniquity will not have their names in the Book. Those whose names must be there must be deliberate in their labor to make it. Like Saul of Tarsus, we may also have wasted much time pursuing frivolities. We can now redeem the time by doing more for the Kingdom than others around us, for us to be acceptable of God.
SOLUTION: Pursue first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. That should be our priority in life. Every other thing is honestly, immaterial. Do only those things that will guarantee you a place in God’s space; do not allow yourself to be drawn away from the salvation that was bought for you by straying into infirmities and iniquities.
Please pray: Heavenly Lord we want to dwell with you. Please keep us in your love that we may never stray away from your presence, in Jesus’ name. Do please keep our names written in the Book of Life, and prevent us from having the same blotted out, in Jesus’ name.
Kindly share with others if you have been blessed by this Guide. God bless you as you do so, in Jesus' name.
