All Secrets Shall Be Judged

Focus: Romans 2:16 - KJV

16. In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

1 Corinthians 4:1-5

By the philosophies of men, there is no art for finding the mind’s construction on the face. In essence, whatever is done in the secret of a man’s heart, remains secret. However, in the righteousness of God, there is no secret that will not be revealed in the end, for God shall judge the secrets of all hearts according to the Gospel and not based on the laws of Moses. Hence, it is important for everyone to have the understanding that there is nothing done secretly that is not open unto God. Some deceive themselves and assume they can commit secret sins and none would know about it. But where can anyone go to do a thing that God is not?

David was a king and if he wanted to be reckless, he could take over any of his subject’s wife unquestioned. But because he puts forward to men a God-fearing mien, he did not want it to be public knowledge that he surreptitiously slept with Urriah’s wife. He did everything possible to conceal it and it was concealed to man. But God revealed it to Nathan the prophet, and so soon David was made to know his secret was not secret after all. The king of Syria planned secretly in his bedroom how he would constructively attack Israel. Every time he did so, the secret plans were already known to the king of Israel because Elisha, whom God told, had revealed it.

The Lord is saying to us that it is impossible for us to hide behind a finger. Even before we fully form our thoughts, they are known unto God. He is not one we can assume we keep secrets away from. If we do not want to be judged for our secret thoughts, words or acts, we are to ensure we make them all pure and plain before the Lord, the one who sees and knows all things, so that in judgment, He might be justified for He can never be wrong. Let us particularly desist from hurting people with our secret thoughts that propel evil actions for all of them shall be made open, and judged.

May the Lord wash away your evil secret thoughts by the blood of Jesus and not bring them to judgment any longer. May He grant you the fortitude to stand in righteousness for the rest of your life, in Jesus’ name. May the Almighty cause you to reap the benefits of righteousness in Jesus’ name. May your life begin to blossom in Christ from hence, in Jesus’ name.
