Be free from filth

Focus: 2 Corinthians 7:1 - KJV

1. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18

The Lord, with whom we relate, is flawless and therefore filth-less. Not only that, He detests and cannot stick filth in any manner. Filth is not however, limited to the direct deeds of the individual. It is possible for an individual to be purged of filth but continue to amass filth to himself because of his association. Evil association corrupts good manners. Many are deprived of the blessings of righteousness by reason of the kind of people they associate with. When we become children of God, He releases His Spirit to dwell in us. That Spirit is holy and therefore called the Holy Spirit. When a carrier of the Holy Spirit begins to romance with the filthy one, he gets polluted also. Israel had been baptized unto Moses in the Red Sea. The team that approached Jericho therefore was without filth, in a manner of speaking. But in Jericho, Achan attracted filth to himself and by remaining in the company of Israel, he made the bunch unreceivable unto God. Hence, they went into Ai without the holy God in their company and got defeated. There is no relationship between light and darkness; there can never be a relationship between Christ and belial. It is wrong to claim to be of Christ and be in romance with workers of evil except only for evangelism. No wonder the good book insists you come out of their midst. Every company we keep that does not glorify God is an avenue to gathering filth.

Have you noticed that the lull you have experienced is due to some unholy alliance or friendship you keep recently? Please be cautious. God cannot deny Himself. He cannot operate in the midst of filth. Except there be light, the Holy Spirit will not operate. For you to amass the beauty of the Holy Spirit in your life, let there be light. When there is no light, there is filth and in filth voidness is noticed. When the light comes, creative actions happen and everything becomes good. Run from filth. Be separate from it completely.

SOLUTION: Do not be unequally yoked with the unbeliever. It leads only to darkness. Whatever it is that you have done that puts you in relationship with belial must be jettisoned forthwith. Stay away from evil company. It drags down.

The Lord will keep you safe and give you the grace to see who you should stay away from in Jesus’ name. Every evil association that is causing the Lord to be separate from you are cut off today in the name of Jesus. The Holy Spirit will renew His presence in your life from now in the name of Jesus Christ. Nothing will cause you to diminish again ever in Jesus’ name.
