Blow The Trump!

Focus: Joel 2:1 - KJV

1. Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

Joel 2:11-23

The people of Sodom and Gomorrah were so deluded and blinded from the calamity that awaited them. They were out doing their evil trade regardless of the mind of God. It was the same at the time of Noah also, when people went about life with reckless abandon not caring about the existence of God. The same is happening today where men live as if they are God and there can never be an end to their indiscriminate evil letting. The difference between the time of old and now is that right now the Lord is shouting that we blow the trump to alert everyone that the day of the Lord has drawn near, to forestall their being caught napping like in the days of old. Ironically, the blowing of the trump seems like just fulfilling all righteousness as it will appear many are sworn unto perdition. Whether men yield to the sound of the trump or not, God will soon show forth.

The day of Noah was characterized by life as usual. Repentance and following godliness were not a phenomenon people knew. They were out minding their businesses of evil doing despite all that the Lord had laid down as His purpose for man. When the day of the Lord came, the floods took over and none of them (evil doers) was left to tell the story. In Sodom and Gomorrah, they operated as though there was neither God, law nor rulership. They did as they pleased: men laying with fellow men and basically forcibly where there was no consent. They did not care about the person or sagacity of their victim; they only cared about their lusts. When the Lord came to rescue the just and give room for the destroyer, he had only one family he could take, the matriarch of which also got destroyed for not being just.

The Lord’s warning is getting louder than ever that His day is at hand. The reason He is asking that we sound the trump again is that it is not His pleasure that any should perish. It is time to put away the shenanigans. It is actually time for the priests to weep between the porch and the altar seeking the face of God for the people. All have failed God and we need to seek His mercy so that we won’t get burnt in the inferno of His day. Let everyone be sober minded and seek the Lord now, for the days are evil and the Lord will soon come through for His Church. The Lord is saying we all need to stand up to be counted.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, when the Lord shall come for His elect, you will not be left behind. As we sound the trumpet now, nothing will prevent you from hearing the call of God and be ready. The Lord will keep you as the apple of His eyes to the very end in Jesus’ name. You will never end up like Lot’s wife in Jesus’ name. Your escape shall be total and complete in Jesus’ name.
