Focus: James 1:18 - KJV
18. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
1 Peter 1:3-23
Welcome to the eighth month of the year. May the Lord give you a clean slate to begin anew in His presence, that you may be spurred into a better life than ever, from now, in Jesus’ name. Happy New Month. Everything that the Lord does is good; but the enemy, not wanting God to prefer any to his corrupt self, corrupts every such thing. He did the same to man after that God had made him very good. However, despite all the manipulation and misgivings of the enemy, God always has the last laugh. Although the enemy corrupted man that God brought forth in the beginning, he did not realize that the latter would always be made better than the former. The former was crafted in the flesh, but the latter by the Spirit through the word of truth. Christ is the way the truth and the life.
Cain was made and got corrupted: a man of the flesh; but God had a better man in Abel who was killed. Esau was born a man of the flesh: he could not hold himself against the lust of his flesh and through it, lost his birthright and his spirituality. The latter, who came after him, whom the Lord already foretold that He loved, was born in the similitude of the Spirit to fulfil the promise and will of God. Hence, like the spirit wars against the flesh and the flesh against the spirit, he was involved in constant, significant war with Esau. From the womb, to their birth, to the bowl of venison and the birthright and the blessings that go with it, Jacob would not stop until the Spirit is established. In the same manner, a man is first born out of the flesh in the similitude of Adam; when he receives the word of truth, he becomes born again, his latter being, which is preferred by God, becomes spiritual because he is born of the Spirit and fulfills the will of God.
The Lord wants us to know that at all times, He has preference for the Spirit than the flesh and therefore, like He preferred Jacob the latter, to Esau the former, He has preference to a man in his latter form of being born by the word, than his former state of being born by the flesh. Therefore, beginning from this month and more than ever before, like He carried through His preference for Jacob over Esau, He will prove Himself in the lives of those born by the Word over those in the flesh. Like Jacob warred against Esau to attain the birthright, everyone born of God, by the word, is expected to resist the enemy by abstaining from fleshly lust so as not to fulfil the desires thereof. Rather, we are to yield only to the Spirit of God that we may overcome the flesh and win back our right.
SOLUTION: Never allow the flesh to rob you of your birthright. Your birthright is to live in dominion here on earth. If you yield to the flesh, then you are not different from Esau. War against the flesh to remain in the spirit always so that you don’t fulfil the lust of the flesh but retain your birthright to dominion.
Please pray:
· Give thanks to God for bringing you into this new month in a good stead and thank Him for giving you the spiritual birth by His word of truth
· Ask God to please always give you victory over the flesh that you may maintain your spiritual standing to the end
· Ask God to make this month a new month of success, promotion, perfect health and wellbeing for you and your household
· Pray that the word of God gives birth to many more people by the Spirit so that the enemy may be put to shame over the affairs of men
· Ask for your daily bread today
