Choose Life

Focus: Deuteronomy 30:19 - KJV

19. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Matthew 7:13-14

There are two pillars that control actions and livelihood in the earth: one is the pillar of light which is characterized by righteousness, peace, love and joy in the Holy Ghost, while the other is the pillar of darkness which is responsible for wickedness, pain and suffering. The one leads to life and the other leads only to death. Each pillar has its agents who are responsible for membership drive, encouraging people to come in. In darkness, there are many agents who parade themselves as agents of light because there is no real attraction to darkness, ordinarily. Hence, they pretend they are agents of light but are forever campaigning for darkness. The Lord says we know them by their fruits. These agents of darkness make the messages coming from the agents of light less attractive by the lies and deceptive coloration they add to their message. Meanwhile, for every agent of light that does not deviate from the truth, the light they present eventually overcomes darkness.

Nonetheless, God has given man the right to choose between the light and darkness. The way to the light is quite narrow and there are not many people towing it because it appears quite less attractive and offers little or no pleasure. Whereas the way of darkness which leads to perdition is so broad, has many on it and is full of sensuous pleasure. Those thronging there are legion and, in their minds, they are on the right path. How do we explain those who claim for as long as you are born again even if you fornicate and the trumpet sounds you will still go to heaven? Are they not agents of darkness luring people to the wide and broad gate? Even the word of God says there is a way that seems right unto a man but the end thereof is the way of death. Incidentally, God compels no one to choose light where He dwells. Rather, He has given unto everyone the right to freely choose which way he would follow. Those who follow the light end up in life and the opposite is true for darkness too.

Today, God wants us to know that each of us is responsible for his/her choice in life. Those who choose wickedness are not hidden for they bear only fruits that reveal wickedness glaringly; yet those who choose the light are a city set upon the hill that can never be hidden. The messengers of light are so many in our midst on earth nudging us to enter by the narrow way as unattractive as it may seem, for it is the way that leads to life. God is equally exposing as things unfold, the agents of darkness including the false prophets that we may recognize their hypocrisies and avoid the way they point to for it leads to destruction. The options are therefore made available unto us: one has the clear red light flashing but glowing attractively: please don’t go that way for red is an indication of danger. That seeming dull green light that seems less attractive is the one that leads to life. It is the way of Jesus Christ which is the true way that leads to life. Be careful to seek that way out and you won’t miss heaven.

SOLUTION: The only way that leads to life is Jesus Christ. Those who accept His works and follow His commands will navigate their ways into the light where life is. Everyone that follows any other way, yes, any other, is in for surprise at the end when it may be too late to turn around from the dark Harley. It is not too late to turn around now, but when the trump sounds, it will be.

·      Give thanks to God for the light that He has made available to you that you may live

·      Ask God to please help you to choose correctly so that you do not get carried away or deceived by the wrong doctrines of the false prophets or get lured away by the lucid enticement of the anti-Christ

·      Ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all that you do so that you may never go into the broad way

·      Pray God to send more laborers into His vineyard today so that there may be more agents of light directing men to the right way

·      Ask for your daily bread today
