Focus: Luke 22:41-42 - KJV
41. And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42. Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Hebrews 5:5-9
There are times when the will of God for our lives is to have us crushed with a view to bringing out the juice in us. Unless and until the crushing produces the juice, we do not serve the will and the purpose of God, for there is no gain for the Kingdom in raw fruits that perish after time when not well preserved. But the wine taken out of the crushed grape is finer by the day as against when it’s in its ordinary form as it may get rotten. The crushing process is however, painful to the fruit although when it becomes wine, it is the sweetest form of the fruit. Jesus Christ suffered obedience through suffering even though when He considered the pain that accompanied His crushing, He would rather have the father change the narrative. Nonetheless, when the juice came out of His crushing, He got a name above other names as He served the purpose of the father in being the Savior of the world from sin and total eclipse in darkness.
It is possible that the Lord has allowed one or the other among us to be crushed or to undergo some crushing at the moment which state does not seem palatable at all. The counsel of the Lord to such a person is to please hold forth. The juice will soon come through and the pain will be over and forever forgotten. The enemy may assume that through the crushing, it will be the end of the story for you. Please rest assured in the fact that unless a seed of corn falls to the ground and dies, it abides alone. The Lord is allowing you through that momentary suffering to bring out the best in you. Therefore, be patient in your tribulation and have faith in God in that He will never leave or forsake you.
SOLUTION: Patience is great virtue in the face of tribulation. Murmurings and grumblings can only compound the situation as they tantamount to lack of faith. Have faith in God therefore, and await your salvation from the turmoil.
Please pray:
· Give thanks to God for the fact that you know He is working out your rescue from the present predicament
· Ask God to arise for you that you may fulfill His will alone in that which you are currently passing through
· Pray that the current crushing should bring forth the best of juice in you to the glory of the name of the Lord
· Pray for strength to bear the crushing through the ministry of angels like they comforted Christ in His own crushing moment
· Tell God your peculiar needs
