2. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.
Psalms 50:14-17
In the present world that is full of darkness, trouble looms in every sphere. But there is a God that dwells in light and by nature disperses darkness whenever He shows forth. To overcome the thick trouble that flows from darkness, man requires the light of God. Hence, it is most essential for anyone that finds himself locked in the thick trouble flowing from darkness to cry unto the one that bears light to come to his aid. However, the Lord is not available to answer to the cries of the wicked whose ways are abominable unto God. Hence, the Lord Himself says of the wicked that he hates instruction and therefore cannot bear the statutes of the Lord in his mouth.
David ran into trouble in Ziklag. He had nowhere else to turn. He cried to the Lord, his deliverer, and He answered showing him the way to go and that he would surely overtake the enemy and recover all. Saul was in trouble with the Philistines. He sought the Lord through various means but the Lord refused to speak with him. In desperation, he resorted to the ways he had declared abominable to God by consulting a witch to bring up the spirit of the dead for him to consult with. Even at that, he only received a negative verdict.
God is saying to us today that He will make Himself available for our rescue when in trouble, if only we will abide in Him. Those who fail to abide should not assume He is their steward to be at their beck and call despite not being fit to bear the words of God in their mouths. Hence, if we must succeed in this dark world, we need the guarantee of the light of God about us, to come out of trouble unscathed, all the time.

The Lord will honor your cry in the days of trouble in the mighty name of Jesus. His glory that disperses the issues of darkness shall rest upon you all the days of your life, in Jesus’ name. No weapon formed against you shall ever prosper in Jesus’ name. And from this day forward, wherever darkness may gather because of you, they shall be dispersed by thunder for your sake, in Jesus’ name.
