Death Of The Mighty

Focus: Joshua 24:29 - KJV

29. And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.

Joshua 24:29-33

Welcome to the very beginning of the second half of the year. The TLHJ team wishes you a Happy New Month of success, progress, health and spiritual upliftment in Jesus’ name. One of the banes of human existence is that, as time goes by, an end draws near for everyone. It does not matter how mighty, powerful or influential a man has been, a day comes when an end will happen to the same. There is no human that is born to dwell on earth forever. If, everyone can therefore put his heart to this truth, then are we able to reason and realize that there is really nothing we have on earth, as one day, we will leave it all and depart. That departure can be by death or by the rapture. Whichever way it is, all that we may acquire on earth shall be dropped in it and left for others who may remain.

Man’s departure from the earth may be as horrible as that of the rich man in Lazarus’ story. Even though those he left behind did not see it, he was drawn to hell from his grave. Yes, Lazarus, though buried, was taken up by angels of light unto the bosom of Abraham. It is possible to end like Enoch, who walked with the Lord and was no more because the Lord took him. This end is what Jesus promised believers even though we are yet to observe one, perhaps because people do not yet have that faith in what Jesus said. He said those who believe him shall not taste death. That is loaded. Some may end like Joshua, who after striving so much for Israel still packed it up and was carried about by others. Some will go like Elijah who rode in heavenly chariot without his body seeing decay. Yet, some will go like Moses, a departure that was not too different from Enoch and Elijah. Though the Bible records that he died, no one is able to state how. It is clear that the Lord took him, as his body never saw decay too. Anyhow, there is an end.

The Lord is calling us to attention today that, as many as have witnessed six months in this year, already are six months nearer their ending. How that ending would be shall be determined by their closeness or relationship with God. For it not to be like the worthless rich man, there is still opportunity to be redirected while we are yet alive. The best way to go is for our bodies not to see decay just like Christ’s. if we are truly believers, then we are to be Christ-like. That simply means we ought also to end like Christ. On the cross? Not necessarily. In purity and without blemish: yes! It is only that way that it shall be recorded for us that we passed without dying and without our bodies experiencing decay. No matter what we do, surely there is an end.

SOLUTION: Whatever we do in life, please remember that there is an end. No matter how mighty we may appear on this side of eternity, we must recall that this space was never ours and we will someday shed it for others to use. To be victorious here is to be on the side of the Lord, striving so much by the Holy Spirit to be raptured in the end by the Lord.

Happy New Month!!!

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God who has counted you worthy of realizing that your end may not come with decay but as glorious as that of some Biblical actors like Enoch

·      Ask God to please cleanse you of all infirmities that may prevent you from having a meaningful walk with Him

·      Please pray that your sojourn on earth will not be that of being mighty for nothing and ending up in decay

·      Tell the Lord that because you believe, you do not want to encounter death ever but Christ, through the rapture, would take you like some fathers of faith

·      Please ask for your daily bread for today and ask God to never allow your bread to cease all through this new month.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
