Do All

Focus: Genesis 7:5 - KJV

5. And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

Genesis 6:13-22

It is another day and the Lord is wondering when we, as men, will come to have understanding of His being. The way to enjoying the full benefit of a walk with God is to obey His commandments fully by doing all that He commands. When there is a destination, and the route to the destination is not ordinarily clear, if the directional map says turn to the right at a particular junction and the person being directed goes to the left instead, the same goes farther away from the destination. The same is true about God’s commands. Because He is above and therefore above all, He sees more clearly the entire terrain than those below. Hence, a departure from His command is a choice for delay in the performance of His promises by the promisee.

Noah was told to build an ark and was commanded to follow particular prescriptions and measurements. The Bible says he did it all as he was commanded. At the time of the commands, there was neither rain nor flood. But the command had taken charge of the effect of rains and flood. If Noah had left out undone some measures from the command, his ark would have been flooded. Jesus created new eyes for a man born blind and told him to wash in the Siloam. The same could have taken thought and say, “but even you were baptized in Jordan, I go wash in Jordan instead.” If he did so, his miracle would not have happened. God is the one that knows the ending of anything even before it begins.

There is a user of this devotional whom God is directing in clear commands as to the path to his destiny but is thinking there are better ways. He is saying to us today that it is about precepts upon precepts, and lines upon lines. To fulfil destiny, we have to stick to the commands of God. A tiny departure is tended towards forfeiting that which had been ordained. Then, it is not the Lord denying us of that which He promised, but ourselves making a choice of how we want our lives to be. It is better to choose that which the Lord has ordained for us by staying in His commands and getting the full benefit of His being, than departing from it and living in regrets after. Make the right choice today and you will arrive at that joyful destination the Lord has prepared for you.

Please pray:

Thank you, father for the grace to even hear your commands and the nudging of your Spirit to always do them. This day, I pray, whatever will cause me to depart from your command for my life to get to your desired destination, do not let it come my way, in the name of Jesus. Let my ears be attentive to capture every precept and line in your commands, and let my heart be fully inclined to doing them, in Jesus’ name. Whatever I do, please do not let me miss your preparations for my life, dear Lord in Jesus’ name. Let your name be glorified always in all I do, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
