Psalms 30:1-12
Alas! In less than three days, the year 2021 will be over. Let us take a thought for a moment: the year started with lock down and restriction in many parts of the world to the extent that many were already getting frustrated at a time. It means, if God so wills, He can turn the streets of our various countries into ghost towns and there is nothing anyone can do about it. By the middle of the year, most of the restrictions have been done away with in most countries. Some died of less serious situations than the Covid-19 and others of more serious complications and yet others died of the Covid-19 complications in the course of the same year. No one has said to God that for these reasons He ceases to be God. Now, He has kept us till this day in good health even if there are things we aspire to but do not have. The thought of the enemy and indeed all he tried to do was for us to have the complete opposite of what we have now but God kept us. Is there a reason why we should not extol our God that has thus lifted us?
Even if we never thought about it, should we not consider the agonies of those whom the enemy succeeded in putting in pain in the course of the year some of who died instantly, some of who died after suffering a while and others who though alive are at the moment looking to God for death? Our God is a great and mighty God who loves us and has kept us from the fangs of the evil one. Yes, everyone will die. Yes, no one dies without the Lord permitting it particularly those of the household of God. But situations and circumstances orchestrated by the enemy have put many in their waterloo unexpectedly yet the Lord prevented us from getting into such circumstances or any of them. The psalmist enjoins us to extol the One that is responsible for our wellbeing just like he did and he finished well, so that we may also finish well. Will you extol the Lord with us today?
SOLUTION: Please take time to think about the things the Lord has done for you in the year 2021 and take your mind away from what appears like your pain at the moment. For these good deeds that you have recounted, please spend quality time in worship today. God seeks those who will do that.
Lord we love and appreciate you for all your goodness over our lives. Thank you for not leaving or forsaking us. Thank you for where we are in life and where you are taking us. Do please uphold this your beloved and watch over the same to the very end in Jesus name. Let no devil be able to rejoice over him or her in the name of Jesus. Thank you Lord for everything. For in Jesus most excellent name we give thanks. Amen. As the Lord lives, we shall together praise Him the more in the new year if He tarries in His return for the saints in Jesus name. Please keep the faith.
