Fear God, Obtain mercy

Text: Luke 1:50

And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

Read: Daniel 3:8-17

God is not only jealous; His name is Jealous. He detests those who degrade Him by giving credence to someone or something else above Him. Therefore, He commands us not to have other gods beside Him.

To some, their god is one image somewhere made with the hands of men. To others, it is the money that they got from God that has turned their god. Yet, for some others, it is the child(ren) they got from God that they have made their god. Others, relatives and so on.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If you must be wise fear God. The three Hebrew men feared their God and when push came to shove, God arose for them in His mercy. Please check your life: why does it seem things are not working out the way you purposed from the beginning of the year? Is it likely there is a god in your life that is making your God jealous? There is a story told of an Evangelist who loved God and asked Him for a child. The Lord Gave Him a beautiful daughter. From the arrival of the child whom he named Angel, Evangelist shifted focus from God to her such that God was not able to pass messages through him like before. Then the Lord took the daughter back. Evangelist did all manner of casting and binding to no avail. Then he returned to God to ask why? God responded and said that you may return attention to me.

Are you also idolizing the gift(s) God has given you? Please you may be endangering the same.

It is in the fear of God you obtain His mercy. He will be merciful to whom He will show mercy, especially those that fear Him. Do you really fear God? Then obey His commands. If you don’t, then you don’t fear Him but another and you remove your candidacy for His mercy. Meanwhile, you need His mercy so that you may not be consumed. Yield to Him today.

Pray: Lord, help me to remain in awe of you for the rest of my life. Don’t ever let the enemy shift my focus from you to deny you. Let my life draw your mercy forever more in Jesus name.
