Focus: Colossians 2:5 - KJV
5. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
Colossians 2:1-10
It is a new month. A month in which the Lord will perfect things He has begun in our lives to the glory of His name. The mind of God for us His followers is that, as we have been born in Him by the leading of some, we ought also to lead others to be born likewise. Nevertheless, it is not sufficient that we just cause people to be born but that we ensure they are not strangulated. Hence, the Lord has recommended a means by which our fruits may abide and that is through effective follow up. It behoves us as preachers and evangelists to check on the well being of those the Lord has drawn to Himself through our labor. It does not matter whether we are able to visit them physically or not; what matters is that we are in touch with them and ensure that we know their state of affairs from time to time. Paul made an example for us in writing letters to and finding out about the well-being of the Colossian church that he planted even though he was not able to visit them in the flesh for obvious reasons. In essence, distance should not be a barrier to following up the converts. In following up however, we must be sure to assert the truth in love and admonish them in the way of the Lord.
Dear friend, thank God that you are alive and well this day starting the second half of the year. Truly you have challenges and difficulties but it is not a situation peculiar to you. The Lord is almost always ready to bear your burden but what is it you are doing for Him to glorify His name? Today, He is asking that you follow up your converts so that they are not misled by others? But, in the first place, do you have a convert to follow up? If you don’t have, you can start today to preach the Gospel to the lost. When they are converted, please stay in touch with them to ensure their growth. God is keen on it.
SOLUTION: Look for those the Lord converted to Himself through you; from today, be interested in their well-being in the body, whether you are present or not. If you find anything that need be addressed concerning their Christian lives, please address the same tacitly. Follow up regularly.
In the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as you look out for the well-being of God’s children, the Lord will appoint people to specially take care of your needs. You will never lack comfort and support in Jesus’ name. From now on, angels will attend to your needs speedily in the name of Jesus Christ. That which has been the barrier to your following converts up effectively shall be taken away in Jesus’ name. Happy New Month! Shalom!
