Focus: John 15:5 - KJV
5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Acts 19:11-16
For a believer to be fruitful, the same must lean completely on God as his source. Leaning on God is premised on the truth of the word and the extent of it one is able to assimilate and understand per time. All efforts towards fruitfulness in the way of the Lord without leaning on the word amount to futile efforts. It is possible to call someone an Apostle, assuming that the same is a believer, and therefore of God; and yet the same is cowed by the challenge of agents of darkness to a contest like it happened in the days of Elijah even though the Prophet threw the challenge in his own days. Darkness can never overwhelm the light. Whenever such is the case, then we need to check our source if we are still connected.
A time was when God did special miracles by the hands of Paul such that handkerchiefs from his body healed, because he leaned completely on God, his source. Some seven sons of Scervas thought such fruitfulness just happens by merely calling the name of Jesus. They put their “faith” to work wanting to cast out demons, after all, what is required is mere belief, they thought. Like the Bible says, even the devils believe there is God. These ones were mesmerized by the devils and became a shame unto themselves for the devils declared knowledge of Christ and of Paul who leaned on Him. But since they had no nexus at all with God, they were asked of their identity.
We have played Christianity without fruit enough. We need to turn a new leaf by ensuring that we are believers with fruit. If we fail to bring forth fruit, the enemy will continue to mock our faith and it will seem that we are a joke. It is time for us to lean more on God and His word, even as we practicalize that which we gain from the word by dispersing the devils and scattering their works. If we fail to act on the word, we end up possessing power without activating it for the purpose it is given to us. Let every believer therefore arise and show like Elijah, that our God is the Almighty and still retains power over all things, including situations and circumstances.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for being my Source and dependable father. Please help to keep me forever hinged on you for the sake of bearing fruits and pleasing you. Let the fruits prove to the world that you are indeed, the way, the truth and the life. Let many more come to your saving grace by it so that they may turn unto you in their numbers like in the days of Elijah, in Jesus’ name. Please let not your name be drawn to the mud because of me, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. This very day, let your name be glorified in my life in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
