4. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
Revelation 3:4-18
It is the beginning of the second half of the year and the year can no longer be said to be new in any manner. But what are we on earth to do really? Just to sleep, wake, eat drink and occupy space? Not so! The one who put us on the earth has a purpose for each of us which, until fulfilled, leaves Him unsatisfied. Those who fail to do the will and the purpose for which they are born are, simply put, unworthy to walk with the Lord in that they have defiled their garments. Defilement comes in diverse forms but the bottom-line is, walking away from the purpose of God. Yet, we all must give account of what we live to accomplish. As the calendar winds down, time is running out on many. Some woke up in the beginning of the year to a shout of triumph but are no more today. Most of them could never have thought they would die this year.
The Lord, is walking through His Church at this time, like the churches mentioned in the book of Revelation, to X-ray the readiness of the members thereof. Is it also possible, like the Church in Sardis, that only a few have their garments undefiled amongst the multitude that are being paraded as the Church? What then will be our gain when those we think God has saved through us are not worthy of walking with Him? The prime role of the believer, is to engage in the ministry of reconciliation and direct converts to walk therein, in the footsteps of Christ. But how many are walking in that footstep today? But to each the Lord will lay a charge on the fulfilment of purpose. He comes quickly to give unto each according to how his works shall be.
The Lord is making an urgent demand on us all to do that for which we were brought forth and keep our focus on it. A refusal to do and fulfill purpose is a tacit delay of the performance of the overall will and purpose of God for mankind. Incidentally, everyone that contributes to the delay shall eventually answer. The Lord will only walk with those whose raiment remain white and undefiled. It cannot be right as commanders in the Lord’s army that we present soldiers with defiled garments unto Him in the last day. Let us therefore spend more time on the work and purpose for which we were born, and in the end, we shall be worthy to walk with the Lord. Happy New Month of July.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for the white garment that you have clothed me with when I opted for you instead of the world. From this day, please keep me anointed with your oil and help me to remain steadfast in your purpose for my life in the name of Jesus. As I begin the second half of the year in this new month, make the latter end better than all that I experienced in the past months in Jesus’ name. Let this month in particular aid me in purpose pursuit better than before and let me go from month to month progressively, in Jesus’ name. Let my blessing be full this month in the name of Jesus Christ.
Please share with others. God bless you.
