God For Us

Focus: Romans 8:31 - KJV

31. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

2 Kings 6:8-17

By reason of the Lord Jesus Christ coming into the world for the salvation of man, God is with us, Emmanuel! It is one thing for God to be with mankind and another thing for God to be for us. God is with us and He sees all that we do but He is only for those who are His and do that which He commands. When God is for us, He takes over our totality and none can challenge His authority. Those who stand against anyone that God is for meets a brick wall and are exposed themselves to devastation, as the beloved of God is always extra-fortified. Hence, no matter the extent of opposition against the believer who God is for, He stands victorious to the end.

The Lord, because of the presence of His firstborn, Israel, was with Egypt. But in the face of a schism, He was for Israel who enjoyed His protection while Egypt suffered devastation. God was for Elisha and therefore surrounded him with myriad of angels when the king of Syria sent troops to get hold of him. The troops failed, and Elisha made a sport of them. God, today is for the believer and practically dwells in him, such that it is aptly written that greater is He that is in the believer than he that is in the world. No wonder, beyond rebuking kings for their sakes like He did for the people of old, He has marked the believer with His seal, making him untouchable for the enemy.

God is too mighty for any situation or circumstance to devastate or overcome Him. Hence, all He seeks from the believer is to maintain holiness and strict compliance with His will. Once that is attained, He will Himself defend the believer to the point that even the believer would marvel at the kind of covering and favor he enjoys. The Lord is calling us to come unto Him that He may be there not only with us but also for us. When we do, all those things that seem impossible, improbable or insurmountable get crushed in our glare without much ado. Let us therefore heed the voice of the Lord that He may be for us.

Thank, you father for being with us. We seek a greater presence of yours in our lives and therefore pray that you be for us going forward so that no one can successfully be against us, in the name of Jesus. Let every opposition to our wellbeing melt at your appearing because you are for us, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. From this day, Lord, we overcome all principalities, powers and rulers of darkness of this world, in Jesus’ name. We command every knee to bow for our sakes in the name of Jesus Christ.
