Focus: 1 Samuel 2:7-8 - KJV
7. The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. 8. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.
Psalms 40:1-3
God is a loving and faithful father. No, He is not happy to put anyone in pain. He dwells ordinarily far above the darkness of the earth on a hill covered by His light. So, whenever He wants to allow any man to experience the delight in His light, He pulls the same out of the miry clay of the darkness on earth, and sets his feet on the rock where the light shines. If, however, a man decides he does not want the lordship of God over himself, the same shakes himself off the rock where light shines and falls back into darkness. Can one blame God for same? For instance, Saul Kish was a wanderer when God located and lifted him unto the rock where the light shines. From that time, he started to prophesy and do things beyond ordinary ability. But the season he decided he was too much to obey the one that rules on the rock, he shook himself free of God and fell back into darkness. Rather than prophesy, an evil spirit located itself in him and he became simply mad. Think about it: God is still in the business of lifting people into His light. Those who are so lifted have the signs to show for it for they are no longer ordinary. As God is not evil, those who remain in the miry clay are they that appear to resist or reject God.
Dearly beloved, God is beckoning on you to come unto Him. While Saul was wandering, he was just wasting time over asses that were no longer lost. But once he sought God through the prophet, he got lifted. You also can be lifted today if you will seek the Lord truthfully with all your heart. Have things been looking gloomy and scaringly painful? Oh yes, everyone knows you as a believer but what is heaven saying about you? Are you still on the rock or you have shaken off the One who drew you into His marvelous light? Quickly seek Him while it is yet day. Don’t let the one in darkness encircle you fully before you realize your situation.
SOLUTION: God is beckoning on you if you labor and are heavy ladened. Take His rest. Return to your first love. Seek God better than ever. No, not routinely without meaning but in deep communion. He is waiting for you.
Father, we know you can still rescue with your outstretched arms; please rescue us all from the miry clay today in the name of Jesus.
