Memorize: Ezekiel 11:19-20
19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Read: Ezekiel 18:25-32
God made a perfect man to take charge of the earth and occupy it till He, the Creator comes for it. Unfortunately, the incursion of the enemy has not only corrupted the earth but also the hearts of men. Wherefore, everyone that bears a stony heart ends up in corruption and offense towards his God. The Lord knows this and does not want any to perish. Therefore, He has decided to make available to everyone a heart of flesh in replacement of the stony one so that everyone now has an opportunity to reject the evil one and his corrupt ways.
Nonetheless, despite all that the Lord has done in affording for every man a heart transplant, some have decided to continue in their corrupt ways unabashedly. The beautiful thing is: for everyone who gets a heart transplant and decides to forsake his old and corrupt ways, the Lord ascribes to the same, righteousness forgetting everything that had been in his past. On the flip side, if a person after having walked in righteousness returns to corruption, in the same manner, he will be judged for the corruption and not righteousness which he had forsaken. Moses was a righteous man whom God spoke to mouth to mouth. He was to take Israel into the land God had promised them and share it to the tribes. He recanted righteousness and corruption was found in him in that he refused to honor God before the people. He paid for it by not getting to the promised land. Saul of Tarsus on the other hand was a murderer. He met with mercy and turned around from corruption. God received him and forgot his past.
Don’t assume you have reached a height you cannot fall. He who thinks he stands is to take heed lest he falls. On the other hand, there is no depth of corruption God cannot redeem you from. All you need is to repent and turn from your corruption. Let the heart of flesh work in you and God will receive you.
Pray:
Father, thank you for giving me the heart of flesh. Help me to forever yield to that heart and not the enemy so that I may never go into corruption in Jesus name.
