Inner Strength

Focus: Ephesians 3:14-16 - KJV

14. For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15. Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16. That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Ephesians 1:10-23

There is some beauty that comes from being a believer in Christ that many are yet to activate. Christ’s ministry is to give life and life more abundantly. Life is in being able to do what the ordinary man cannot. Prior to the coming of Christ, such was achieved by some individuals at a time, in each generation. By the coming of Christ however, there is expected to be an overwhelming predominance of such occurrence. The inner strength happens only by faith. Now, faith is not ordinarily in seen things. It can therefore, only be by some kind of special endowment, that it happens. For instance, it is only a crazy man that would enter into a race with a chariot driven by horses; but Elijah did and outran the horses. Only a suicidal inexperienced lad would confront a giant champion in a battle of superiority; but David did confront Goliath, by some inner strength, and won.

The inner strength is supplied by the Spirit of God, who was available to man scantily, prior to the coming of Christ, but now poured out unto all flesh, by reason of the sacrifice of Christ. Timid Peter, before he imbibed the inner strength, jellied through the trials of Christ and got thrown off by His crucifixion and death. However, when he received the selfsame Spirit that made Elijah thick, David, Moses etc. bold, and made Jesus go about doing good, he confronted the devil that made a man lame and commanded healing; and just like that, the man was made whole. Who could have thought it possible that from mere words and pulling up, a lame man, who had lost hope, could be made to walk again?

That which Peter and the other apostles got into themselves that gave them strength in the inner man, is also available to us today. He is the Holy Spirit of God through whom the believer is given life and life more abundantly. Unfortunately, it is possible to proclaim belief without being so strengthened. Not because the Holy Spirit is partial, but for lack of faith. The just shall live by faith. It was faith that made Elijah call forth rain in his days and it came. To the casual observer, after three and a half years without rain, and no cloud was formed, only a fool would assume rain would fall immediately at his saying so. But it came. Faith is the engine through which the strength within is actualized. The dead can only be made to rise by the faith of someone strengthened by the Holy Spirit on the inside.

SOLUTION: If you be a believer, then believe. It is the propelling force that activates the power in the inside of the believer. God can never lie. Start practicing by faith, the power the Lord has released unto you through the Holy Ghost.

Pray thus: Father, I appreciate the inner strength you have made available for me like every other believer; please, help my unbelief that I may be able to accentuate the gains of the inner strength in Jesus’ name. Let me do more exploits for you than all those that have gone before, in the name of Jesus Christ.
