Focus: Hebrews 12:2 - KJV
2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18-25
Of all those that had been and that are, the testimony of the Bible is that it is only regarding Jesus that the Lord spoke saying, this is my beloved son, hear ye him. If the Lord has manifestly said that, is it not foolhardy therefore, to want to uphold the words or acts of another over that of Christ? Jesus, without equivocation, is the Author and the Finisher of our faith and therefore, we need to hearken to Him fully and follow His example, if we must fulfil destiny by the faith. It is He who said there was nothing He did except those things He saw the Father do. Meaning, all the acts of the earthly Jesus were the acts of God. It follows that we ought to emulate Jesus since by so doing we emulate God. Jesus spoke the truth to power, regarding the person of God, correcting the erroneous teachings of the fathers, calling the adherents thereto hypocrites. We ought to do the same. He suffered persecution and did not because of it hate anyone but still went ahead to lay down His life for the ransoming of man. We ought to follow His example and not utter things that Christ did not, in tribulation.
One thing is certain, if Christ could endure the cross and despise the shame of being called the accursed even though He is the King of Glory, it is possible for us too to go through the same and come out victorious, like Christ. All that is needed is to, like Him, focus on the goal for which we were ordained by God and refuse to lose sight of it, no matter the circumstance. Today, all the shame and persecution He endured have paid off in that He is set on the right hand of the throne of God, where a space is prepared for every saint who can equally endure to the end, just like Christ did.
Are you under some yoke of persecution or tribulation is being directed at you? Please endure the pain and hardship without abdicating your position in the ship. It will surely end in praise. Just be determined to finish on the side of the Lord. There were many before us that had to go through the same and are today resting in victory. Please be assured, there is no carrier of the truth of Jesus that is free from the persecution of the devil. Nonetheless, the foolishness of God is wiser than men and through the example of Christ, victory is certain.
SOLUTION: Never give up, no matter what the circumstance might be. It is all a mirage. It shall soon come to pass. Those who gave up in the face of trouble are said to be of little stregnth. If you can hold on to the end, you will be by the right hand of God by Christ Jesus in the very end. Don’t give up.
Please pray: Father, the pressure from the world is making us to cringe, for the burden is much. Help dear Lord! Please make the burden lighter for us that we may bear it no matter what, so that our victory may be certain in Jesus’ name. Help us daddy, that like Christ we may find space on the right hand of your throne of glory in the end, in Jesus’ name. Do put the enemy to shame in our matter, in Jesus’ name.
