Joining

Focus: 1 Corinthians 6:17 - KJV

17. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

John 17:20-26

God is a Spirit even as man has a body, spirit and soul. Unfortunately, many do not understand the spiritual connotation of their actions. Some join themselves as one body unto harlots through fornication; others unto animals through bestiality, while some yet join themselves in abomination in sodomy. Yet there are those who join themselves with God and become one spirit with Him. These ones are controlled by the Spirit of God and begin to live the life of heaven on earth even before they eventually make heaven. It is this last group that God prefers and He gains them through Christ.

The reason God forsook Sodom and Gomorrah and left them in the hands of the destroyer was because they were joining themselves wrongly on same sex basis. They were destroying the original order that God made at creation. For in the beginning, He made them one male one female. Even those who engage in fornication are seen in the prism of God’s eye as abominable in that they keep joining themselves to separate several women and divide themselves to lowly states that they do not carry adequate spiritual capabilities to be joined unto the Lord any more. Unless by grace, those joined unto harlots cannot be joined unto the Lord.

God is warning the Church today and saying we should not listen to the liars luring us into wanting to have more than one woman (or for the woman, one man). If we engage in the same, we become disqualified from joining with the Lord and becoming one spirit with Him. The irony is, although the deceiver will be punished for his deception, that does not absolve the deceived from the sanction for his joining with harlots wrongly. Let us therefore, be clear that only those who are joined with Christ are part of His bride, His body and will be at the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for the grace to be joined to you as one spirit. Do uphold me by your Spirit that I may never be detached from you by going to join my body wrongly with another being, aside the spouse you have chosen for me; let your being and mine remain forever glued together in Jesus’ name. If by any chance the enemy lures me unto fornication, please keep it unattractive to me, so that I may remain ever faithful to you my Lord and my Love, in Jesus’ name.
