Let Your Love Abound

Focus: Philippians 1:9-11 - KJV

9. And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 10. That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; 11. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Philippians 1:9-17

There are now many who preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Some for contention and others in truth for the purpose of the Kingdom and not necessarily for self-aggrandizement. If we preach the Gospel in truth, we have great gain in the Lord. Those who preach for contention are antagonistic of those who preach in truth and for the Kingdom. The contentious seek to prove a point about themselves while the true preacher is only concerned about the Kingdom. The difference is that the true preacher does what he does in love for Christ and His Kingdom and by extension, all other members of the Kingdom. This is because these ones approve things that are excellent as expounded by the Gospel. They are sincere in their preaching and the purpose of God. They are accounted and regarded for their love. What does God want? That which you carry is either true or not. If it be true stick with it; if it is not, then adjust your ways. Let your yea be yea and nay, nay. Getting contentious about issues shows a contrary spirit. No one is above a mistake. If one is made, the right thing to do is correct it. Pulling down the teachers of the truth that you have discovered to be true is not done in love and therefore can never get the approval of God.

Beloved, continue to divide the word of truth with God’s approval. Don’t let the contentious ones deter you from doing that which the Lord has asked you to do. Please show love to all and sundry carefully avoiding contention in all you do, at all cost. There is a reward for the love you share. It is never lost.

SOLUTION: Be focused on the truth and preach that alone. Do not because of man deviate from the truth. In all you do, avoid contention.

As the feet of the one that brings the good news is always blessed, the blessing of the Lord will rest upon you for good in the name of Jesus. No contentious individual will be able to undo you in your show of love in Jesus’ name. Your reward for preaching the Gospel of Reconciliation will never be lost in Jesus’ mighty name.
