Live With Christ

Focus: 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 - KJV

9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10. Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

Romans 14:6-9

The heart of God is that none should perish but have eternal life. Hence, in the very beginning of man, He gave man dominion over every other creature, that through man, His Lordship over the earth may be sustained. Man’s misbehavior conceded that sovereignty which was with him, to the enemy. The effect of the misbehavior was putting God aside and submitting to wrath in the hands of the enemy. It was a matter of choice. However, love will not allow God cede man to wrath. Hence, He made for man an escape route by making a blameless/sinless individual, born of the Spirit, to die for the initial and continuing misbehavior of man. By this, man was saved from the wrath purposed by the enemy. It is purposed by the enemy in that he knows he has already been judged, damned and ostracized but awaiting execution. The execution is in the form of wrath from God against him and his collaborators. This extends to those men that are his collaborators through sin.

Salvation has been served through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who take advantage of it, live together with him: those who are alive, do so by having Him dwell in them and direct their affairs ever more; and those who are dead, eternally without any form of separation, reigning together. Those who will experience the wrath may appear to be enjoying while living on earth, even though they hide their torments and pains from their admirers. When they die, they are conscripted into the place of torment prepared for the devil and his angels. Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus: although Lazarus appeared to have suffered on earth while the rich man appeared to live in splendor, when they died, Lazarus slept and was taken to Abraham’s bosom by angels whilst the rich man was buried. When the duo opened their eyes on the other side, Lazarus was in a place of joy while the rich man was in agony brought by wrath.

The end is near, and whether the rapture happens or not yet, every man will die someday. While we are alive, let us avoid the wrath of now and the one to come by embracing the salvation bought for us by the precious blood of Jesus Christ that we may live with Him here and even when we do sleep. Rather than be in Abraham’s bosom, the believer who lives with Christ will end up in Christ’s bosom in the end. That is a better place than the place of splendor Lazarus ended in. It is therefore, advisable to decide for Christ so as to live with Him here and hereafter. Eyes are yet to see; ears are yet to hear and it is yet to come to the full consciousness of any man how the place prepared for those saved shall be in the end. Please don’t miss out. Disregard the pressure of friends and colleagues who seem to be spurring you in the opposite direction. It is an individual race. When the one deceiving others converts, he may not be able to return to apologize before he sleeps.

SOLUTION: The day of the Lord is at hand. Now is the day of salvation. Embrace it today as tomorrow may be too late. Live your life in line with Christ’s tenet henceforth and surely, you will reign with Him.

Please pray thus: Dear Lord, I thank you for making provision to save me from the wrath prepared for the children of disobedience. I promise to obey you from today as my Lord and Savior. Please help me to stand firm in this promise to the very end in Jesus’ name. In everything, let me live my life with Christ when awake and when I sleep eventually, in Jesus’ name. I forbid the place of wrath for any of my loved ones and myself. Do prevent us all from entering into the wrath prepared for the devil, in Jesus’ name.
