Focus: Deuteronomy 30:6 - KJV
6. And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
Deuteronomy 30:1-8
Loving God with all our heart is a prerequisite to life and living well. Those who fail to do so put themselves under a curse and are riddled with terrible ills just like a man is riddled with bullets at the war front when he lacks a defense. Loving God is something that must be done with the entirety of our hearts and not half-half. With God, it has to be total. And when the Lord speaks about loving Him, it presupposes obeying His commands and doing His will. Jesus Christ already gave us a clue that the entire commandments is simply love which can be summed into the love of God and the love of the neighbor like ourselves. Even the love of God has been further simplified for our understanding to mean loving our neighbor whom we can see which, to God, means loving Him.
When a man commits adultery, everyone may assume it is just an offence against God. Not so, it is first a sin against the spouse of the person involved, which makes it an act of wickedness before God. Now, the Lord Jesus told us that from looking lustfully, the act has actually been done. That is interesting. It is so because God looks at the heart and need not wait till the full consummation. There is a pastor who had been so maltreated by his spouse in that for so long the spouse never allowed him to come near. For this, he assumed God would not mind an escapade once in a while. Meanwhile, prior to this, the man had been a clean and pure son of God. One of the days, God showed him in his dream where he was operating from at the top of the mountain Zion, in the company of other saints on a pure white terrain. The first he saw was that supplies were being given to others but himself; then he found that, with a few others, he was about to opt out of the plane he was walking on. Then as he got to the edge, he realized stepping out was a sharp drop into a great gulf that appeared bottomless. When he came to, he got instruction that what he saw was what the things he thought about would bring to him.
Beloved, there is no life outside of God. Many had gone out of the fold of the saints before now, and they are not better than the dogs as they have severed relationship with the one that affords them life. Those evil thoughts that tend to push us into disobeying God is sown by the enemy with a view to making us fall. Our not falling will depend on whether we yield to the enemy or not. Life is sweet. Life we must seek. Jesus asserts that He came to give us life and it more abundantly. Abundance of life is in loving God with our whole hearts, not allowing debris of darkness or evil therein at all. When we love God with our hearts, we dwell where Christ is positioned, far above principalities and powers. God becomes our complete defense, provider and keeper. Nothing is able to hurt us by any means. They that gang up against us do so to their own hurt. Therein lies life – being in the bosom of God, inseparably.
SOLUTION: Never allow yourself to be thrown out of fellowship with the Lord. Stay in full obedience to the commands and will of the Lord. Let no devil lure you out of the bosom of the Lord. A step out is a step into oblivion outside life.
Please pray: Father, I chose life in you: please let me never be separated from you ever, in Jesus’ name. Whatever will make my heart move away from your love, please separate the same from me, in Jesus’ name.
