Overcome want; Fear God

Focus: Psalms 34:9 - KJV

9. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

Psalms 1:1-3

The year 2022 is winding down. In another two days or a little more, we shall be welcoming a new year. But what has the outgoing year meant to us? Were our needs met in the year? Are we able to say there is no sign of a lack in any area of our lives? Yes, some people are able to say so. They are the ones who do fear their God. To fear God is to refuse to walk in the counsel of the ungodly or stand in the place of sinners, or sit in the seat of the scornful. They are those who delight in the laws of God and meditate in it day and night to do as it prescribes. Of course, these ones have themselves rooted in supplies to the extent that they need not struggle for supplies. In a manner of speaking, their needs are met supernaturally and when they have wants, it comes without much ado. The needs are the things necessary for their being where the wants are the things they just feel they should have not because it is essential but a form of luxury that a prince may feel entitled to. So, the Lord is saying today that many have been in lack because they have failed to fear God and therefore, they had been rooted off the coast where unending supply is kept. To make the in coming year a different and more pleasurable one therefore, the Lord is inviting us all to have a rethink and decide to fear Him more to ensure we are planted anew by the rivers of water where the supplies are unending.

Beloved, life can be better than it is invariably. Let us heed the call of God for a change and prove Him concerning that which He is promising. Abstain from things God does not approve. Do not oppress people that are subsumed under you for any reason. Be loving and kind to everyone that God brings your way. High handedness in little affairs is tyrannical and it hurts God when done to His saints. Do not do it to any man. Be firm, but in your firmness, do not be cruel. God is inviting us to a new dawn of inexhaustible supply.

SOLUTION: Let the word of God dwell in you richly, to do and to glorify God thereby at all times.

Father, please plant each of us in your abundance in Jesus’ name. Take us away from the path of the wicked that we may exhibit your fear in all our doings in the name of Jesus. Let our lives start to show forth your abundance from hence in Jesus’ name. And please keep us ever fresh in you that your name alone may be glorified in Jesus’ name.
