Praise God daily for ever

Focus: Psalms 145:2 - KJV

2. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

Psalms 145:1-21

It is about sixteen days to the very end of the year. I guess we should pause at this point to reflect on certain things. Jesus said in His Words, my father worked hitherto and I work. God is always at work regarding the affairs of the earth and particularly mankind. The ability of man to work is for a while. When he is wearied, he becomes weak and sleeps. But God neither sleep nor slumber. When a man is praised while he is at work, he has the tendency to want to do more even if those praising him are mere sycophants who are involved in mere flattery and not praising truly. Man was created in the image of God and so, some of his attributes are gleaned from God. Even though God knows when men only praise Him with their lips without their hearts being in it, when God finds true praise anywhere, He does more for those people. This, David recognized and took a decision that for as long as God is at work, He deserves praise. Since He has not ceased to work and He is not likely to, then His praise should also never cease in the mouths of men and indeed all His creatures forever.

God deserves our praise. He is the One who makes it possible for us to be alive; He causes us to have peace upon the earth; He keeps us in health; preserves us from the salvos of the enemy; puts food on our tables; provides even much more than we need that we may be blessings to others; gives us good weather from time to time; blesses us with sleep when we ought to; gives us oxygen pricelessly; makes us to pee and or poo when necessary; does not cause us to operate our bowels uncontrollably; gives us voice that we may communicate; gives us hearing that we may hear; nose that we may breath and perceive odor; keeps us away from danger when we perceive it and when we do not; and keeps doing all these and more for us from generation to generation of those that love Him. Now for which of all these does God not deserve praise?

Those who are thoughtful are thankful. Today, let’s just pause and praise God without doing anything else for thirty minutes for His goodness and all His wonderful works in our lives. Faithful He is. And may the Lord find us worthy to accept us and accept our praises in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Let’s therefore create in ourselves the mind to praise God always even for every time we have breath in us. Hallelujah!
