Remove The High Places

1 Kings 15:14 - KJV

14. But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

1 Kings 22:43

At a time in the history of Israel, kings erected alters in high places for political reasons. Ironically, Jehovah God was not the being that was worshipped in those high places but counterfeit gods. Even now, many have created for themselves altars in high places where their hearts operate away from the only wise God. Others appear to have God in their hearts like king Asa, but retain the high places for their followers to keep deferring to, just to be pleasing unto them. It is impossible for a dog to service two compounds just like a servant cannot serve two masters. He will rather love the one and hate the other. We cannot serve God and Mammon. So, having thoughts of God and allowing idol worship is a sacrilege that is unacceptable unto God.

Solomon had a heart for God who crowned him king over Israel. He wanted to have a peaceful reign. After having built a Temple for the worship of God, he sought to secure friendship with neighboring kingdoms and therefore sealed marriages with their king’s daughters. A great political move but with a terrible result towards God. These strange women brought their own gods to the land and pretty soon, many were drawn away from the living God, to worship in the high places the women set up, which Solomon did nothing about. In the end, the wise man saw that even his craftiness was truly vane, in the true affairs of life. Hence, he said all is vanity.

The Lord God is inviting us all to a life of absolute consecration. We are to love righteousness and detest evil. Wherever evil is found, it must be disallowed and moved against with all force of righteousness. Whenever we bath an eye for evil to operate, it spreads and soon begins to thrive. The mind of God therefore, is that we purge ourselves as well as our subordinates and lieutenants, of allowing high places to become strongholds wherever we are found.

Every spiritual high place militating against your full realization in the things of God be pulled down now, in Jesus’ name. No matter the force behind the strongholds created in the hearts of the people around you, they are pulled down for your sake today, in Jesus’ name. From now on, as your heart is hinged unto the Lord, every high place that have become altars in the hearts of others shall never affect your success in God, in Jesus’ name.
