Sealed By The Truth In God

Focus: 2 Corinthians 1:22 - KJV

22. Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

God is true. There is no lie in Him. Hence, when He speaks, He backs it up to the uttermost. This is why He upholds His word above His name. But, prior to the coming of Jesus to align mankind with the truth, almost all the races had their way of calling God, just like the Jews had the Mosaic traditions and that of the prophets and elders. Unfortunately, all of these traditions had the infiltration of the enemy portraying God as one who can be hot today and cold tomorrow. Whereas, God is never yea and nay, but yea and yea, always. And wherever a lie is found, He is not there. But Christ has come to liberate us from all lies and deception. Hence, He is the truth, and the way that leads to God. Through Him, we are sealed by God as purveyors of the truth and what we preach to bring men to Christ is simply yea and yea and not mixed with fables which are lies.

King Saul had believed the lie of the enemy that since he was king in Israel, the stool was for his generations when the Lord did not say so. Meanwhile, when the Lord rejected him, He anointed another in his stead. Rather than accept the truth of God which was not hidden from him, he decided to kill the newly anointed, thinking, if he died, the Lord would allow his own lineage to continue. He knew not that relationship with God is not about legacies but eternity. He hatched plans but they all failed against David. Then he had to commit suicide. Our God is true, when He speaks it is done. If He has said yea to us, it remains yea and never nay. Paul taught the Christians in Corinth to realize this. Unlike the preachers of today, he never taught them to follow the law a little and Christ a little. No! Whatever Christ did not affirm in the law is a nay that is not of God.

The Lord wants us to be clear in our minds by a renewal thereof. Christ came to redeem us from the lies of the initial adherents to worship. There was none that was pure among them. What they put forward was yea and nay and therefore not true of God. For instance, howbeit that the same priest that we run to for restoration of life to the sick is the one other people run to for the taking of the lives of their perceived enemies? Is God who is the giver of life the taker thereof too? How will the one who gave the life of His Son for our ransom have joy in killing those He purposed to ransom when the hope of their salvation was still alive? Please hang on to Christ in the belief that He is yea and yea or Amen and never yea and nay. That which He has promised to do, He will back up for us.

Thank you, father for your truth that is settled forever. Let every lie of the devil over our lives and destinies be exposed today so that we may forever hold on to your truth and therein thrive, in Jesus’ name. The grace to never deceive people by teaching what you never sealed us with, please bestow on us today in Jesus’ name. And everyone that has been lied to, let the scale fall from their eyes today, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. I particularly pray that from today, whoever receives from me your word will only find the truth in it unto salvation and grace, in Jesus’ name.
