Stop The Profanity

Focus: Colossians 2:5 - KJV

5. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

1 Corinthians 5:1-3

A people are as strong as the weakest link thereof. The strength of the Church is in her purity and closeness to God. However, as much as the Church permits profane acts in her system, the same exposes the entire body to condemnation and everyone is viewed with the eye of the profanity. The spirit of the leaders of the Church that handed down the faith to us is with us in all we do, even though they are not with us in the body. When we allow all manner of impurity in the body, we betray them and their works even as we rub mud in the face of the Lord who died for us as a foundation for the building of the Church. To keep the Church pure, we are to resist steadfast all manner of actions that are inimical to the faith without caring whose ox is gored in the circumstance.

Bro Paul learnt of the acts of fornication in the early church that he planted. He spoke tersely against it and made it clear that even though he was not physically present in their daily activities, he was constantly with them in the spirit and was aware of the happenings. He then advised that those that would profane the body be rebuked sharply and where they remain wickedly adamant, they should be resisted and handed over to Satan for the purging of the flesh in them. It is never the intention that they be thrown into destruction but for them to learn obedience through the suffering they would get from the hands of the one they had preferred in impurity. And when they had been chastened, they may then be regained into the fold.

The Lord is saying He does not want any impure being to profane the fold of His sheep. It is better for everyone within the fold to follow the leading of the shepherd. If, however there be any that remains recalcitrant, delving into fornication or other forms of immorality with the devil, it is not out of place to throw the same out of the fold for a season, to endure the cold outside of the fold to appreciate the difference. Let us therefore, be careful to hearken to the voice of the Shepherd as we remain pure among the fold and if we find unrepentant beings within the fold, let us make effort to bring them to repentance or have them pushed into the cold, momentarily.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, every attraction to profanity is destroyed and uprooted from your life. Every power that seeks to banish you from the fold of the Lord’s sheep is destroyed for your sake today in Jesus’ name. The grace to remain pure and steadfast in the Lord, receive from now on, in Jesus’ name. All the benefits of being in the fold shall be and remain yours forever in Jesus’ name.
