Focus: Hosea 2:19-20 - KJV
19. And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. 20. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.
Jeremiah 3:14-15
The Church is the body of Christ; and as the head, Christ is the bridegroom that is to come. When He comes to take the Church, He comes to take her unto Himself, a clean, undefiled bride. Today, many of us are playing church without understanding the place of the Church. The Church is God’s Avenue of training up, and pruning the excesses of the “woman” that would be betrothed unto the Christ, to form one body with Him. Like the natural man, Christ, who is pure in all things, would not cheat Himself by getting betrothed unto a dirty woman, as bride. Hence, the Church is presented with the word of life for pruning and washing. They that be washed clean are presented to God without spot or wrinkle, as those fit for the bridegroom. Those that remain defiled are cut off from the body so that they do not affect the pure others.
Dealing in impurities is whoredom with the devil who, without any argument, is the Lord’s enemy. No man appreciates his bride romancing another man, talk-less of his direct enemy. In the same vein, God being a jealous God, whose name is Jealous, will never approve a person who goes whoring with His enemy as bride. Therefore, those whom the Lord will make His bride, will be so betrothed in righteousness, judgment, lovingkindness, mercies and faithfulness. It is imperative that everyone that wants to remain in the body, should repent from their backsliding and present their bodies a living sacrifice, holy unto the Lord, so that they may be found worthy at the coming of the Lord. The criteria for worthiness are stern but achievable. Let us just fill our lamps with oil, so that our light never goes out.
Beloved, the signs of the coming of the bridegroom are much rifer now than ever. Let us not be like the foolish virgins in the parable of the ten virgins. Rather, let us move with determination and clear precision, to remain attached to the Lord, by avoiding completely the devil and all his handiworks. Being located in evil works is clear whoredom with the enemy; and it carries with it dare consequences. Never therefore, allow yourself to be found in the works of the flesh as we do not know the hour that the Lord shall come. He says it will be like a thief in the night. How would you feel, if after you have gone to prepare something lushy for your spouse, you return to take him/her to that which you have prepared, only to find him/her in the arms of your enemy? Or how would you feel as a man to return from a journey and find your wife pregnant with your enemy’s child? The works of the flesh are a form of indecent pregnancies. Please, adjust your ways.
SOLUTION: Let your motto from hence be “be prepared”. The Lord is at hand and there is no allowance for looking out again. Arrest the backsliding and follow Jesus with greater focus from now on. Even the bridegroom is eager to come for His bride. Don’t miss out.
Please pray: The lover of my soul, I cherish you. I long to be in your arms, dear Lord. Please keep me pure for yourself that I may never miss your embrace when you return in Jesus’ name. Every act of whoredom of the past, please purify me from it by the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
Kindly share with others if you have been blessed by this Guide. God bless you as you do so, in Jesus' name.
