The Benevolent God: A Sacrifice Beyond Measure

Focus Scripture:

"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" — Romans 8:32 (KJV)

The Message

On this Good Friday, we reflect on the ultimate demonstration of divine love: the death of Jesus Christ. God, by His own choice, gave up His only Son as a ransom so that we might experience life in its fullest abundance.

Think of the magnitude of this gift. If God did not hold back His most precious treasure—His own Son—why would He withhold any lesser blessing from you? He is not a stingy God. When we honor the sacrifice of Jesus, we can trust that He will provide everything we need to live a meaningful and fruitful life. He did not sacrifice His Son only to let the beneficiaries of that sacrifice go hungry for "good things."

However, we must also consider the weight of that sacrifice. Jesus left the splendor of heaven to endure a harrowing earthly existence, culminating in a brutal death on a cross. He was innocent, yet He bore the wages of the sin we inherited from Adam. He paid our debt in full.

Today, God looks at a world still entangled in the very wickedness He died to overcome. He asks, "Why must you perish?" The price has been paid; there is no need to pay it again with your own life. Do not let His sacrifice be in vain. Turn from the "wages of sin" and embrace the life of abundance that was bought for you at such a high cost.

Reflective Prayer

Dear Lord, I thank You for dying in my place so that I may have eternal life. Please help me to live my life according to Your pattern, so that my faith never suffers shipwreck. Let sin be far from me, and empower me to lead a holy life from this day forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Please share. God bless you.
