The Infallible Promise Of God

Focus: Psalms 89:34 – KJV - 34. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Men make promises and do fail based on the frailty and lack of integrity of many. But our God is one of tested and infallible integrity: whatever He says He would do, not only is He able to do it, He will surely fulfill His Word. Every time He puts His word in place, He backs the same up to performance. He is not man that He should lie, neither is He the son of man that He should repent. He is faithful, honest and upright.

God made an incredible covenant with David, promising that his royal throne and lineage would endure forever, ultimately leading to the Messiah. Generations later, David’s descendants became deeply corrupt. Kings like Ahaz and Manasseh practiced witchcraft, worshipped idols, and actively rebelled against God. According to human standards, these kings totally voided the contract. They broke every rule in the book. Because of their sins, God brought intense judgment, allowing Babylon to burn Jerusalem and drag the royal family into exile. It looked like David's line was completely wiped out. But because God explicitly stated, "My covenant will I not break," He secretly preserved a remnant. Down in Babylon, and later back in Israel, the bloodline of David was kept perfectly safe through generations of obscurity until a young virgin named Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ—the ultimate King who will rule over the house of Jacob forever. God punished the people, but He fiercely protected His covenant.

It does not matter what is apparent to you in the affairs of life, currently, if the Lord has given you His promise concerning the particular situation, rest assured that He will come through for you. Even if sin appears to have affected you in the promise, the Lord will not likely wipe out the promise but allow punishment for the sin instead. You have the watertight assurance of God concerning that matter; therefore, do not allow the enemy to keep lying to you about the feasibility. God will surely see you through.

Prayer:

Thank you, Lord for your promises over my life. I know for sure that your words are Yea and in you, Amen. Please let your promises that have lingered over my life begin to find performance today, in the name of Jesus Christ. Let no devil mock me for believing in you. Please keep me on track for the actualization of the promises in Jesus’ name. Amen
