The Strength Of The Believer

Focus: 2 Samuel 22:30 - KJV

30. For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

2 Samuel 5:6-10

Strength is measured in ordinary terms using the head-to-head rule. When a team is outnumbered, it is ordinarily considered that they are vulnerable in battle. However, those who have God as Ally, perform extraordinary fetes in battle. The things that are ordinarily impossible for man to do, he does with ease when he has the Lord on his side. With the Lord, a teenager and novice at war can slaughter a champion in battle and put a whole army to flight thereby. If God be taken out of the equation, every soldier depends on his personal strength which may be far less than that of the enemy.

David sought to dwell in Jerusalem; but the Jebusites who dwelled in Jerusalem gave him conditions for them to allow him in, considering their strength in comparison with someone who was at the time ordinary, but wanting to take the throne. They forgot that the ordinary David did extraordinary things through the Israeli army in the past and therefore, must have something he depended or leaned on to carry out such acts. Those who refused him entry became his stepping stones into Jerusalem and when he took over the city, it became the city of David.

The Lord is saying that as many as would lean on Him, would have power to run through troops and with relative ease scale mighty walls. All that He desires of us is to depend more on Him and not mere men. Those who depend on men got disappointed by the men in the end. Let us put our complete dependence on God for quick and appreciable results over all that we may confront or be confronted with. It is time to scale the hurdles of the world and outrun troops, to the glory of the name of the Lord.

From this very day henceforth, receive the strength to run through troops and scale high walls by reason of your having and knowing God. No matter what the enemy may attempt, their works will boomerang on them for your sake, in Jesus’ name. All obstacles standing between you and the goal ahead of you is quashed, in Jesus’ name.
