The Transformative Spirit

ree

Focus: 1 Samuel 10:6 - KJV

6. And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

1 Samuel 10:6-12

The Spirit of God is the same that changed the earth from its shambolic form into a habitable space, in the beginning. Hence, wherever the Spirit is, there is liberty. Such liberty transforms the ordinary man into an extraordinary being. The Spirit of God is a part of God. In describing our God, we must always remember that He is a Spirit. When that Spirit comes upon any man, he becomes transformed as he begins to carry a part of God in his being.

Saul was an ordinary man. God wanted him to lead His people Israel, and therefore came upon him by His Spirit. The result was a transformation: Saul began to prophesy and those who had known him before could not comprehend what happened to him. On the day of Pentecost, a handful of disciples got the Spirit come upon them. No longer were they timid but bold. No longer were they in hiding, but standing boldly in the midst of the people, doing great exploits in the name of the Lord. When the Spirit departed from Saul, the same man that had been a wonder became a negative spectacle.

The Lord is saying to us that we need to allow His Spirit to come upon us for us to be able to fulfil the purposes that He had set us to do. However, anyone who carries the Spirit and allows the same to depart, stands the risk of becoming a ridicule. Therefore, let us not allow the spectacle that the Lord made us turn to ridicule and shame, by ejecting the Spirit from our beings. Let us hinge on to Him so that we may get transformed from glory to glory, continually. And, once we are so immersed in His Spirit, let us be mindful to retain Him in our beings so as not to experience negative consequences, like King Saul.

Please pray:

Spirit divine, I appreciate you for the way you have been using me for your glory in the land of the living. Let the power that operates in men through you rest upon my life from today, and cause positive transformation in my life to the chagrin of the enemy from now on, in Jesus’ name. Please be my Guide from this day and to the end; and let me never forfeit your presence in my life, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
